Note: Icie Marie Williams was born at Pond Fork, WV and died in Germantown, OH. She was the oldest daughter of Charles Logan and Sarah Louise (Webb) Williams. On 24 Dec 1924 in the log house that her father, Charles, built at Pettus, WV, she married Dewey Pettry, the son of Lillian Mae Belle Pettry and Philip Sheridan Price. On that same day, her brother Tracy Lawrence was born. The log house was bought, removed and rebuilt at Naomi, WV by Roger Hamilton in 1988 (it now stands on Roger's property on State Route 3). Icie always wore her long hair in a tight bun and wore gold wire-rimmed glasses. Her main talents included cooking and canning fruits and vegetables. After Dewey died Icie lived alone at the house in Meadow Creek until about 1995 when she moved to Germantown, OH to live with her oldest daughter, Verna Mae, and her husband John Sparks. Verna Mae took care of her until her death on 11 Feb 2000. She is buried beside her husband in the Pettry Cemetery at Dry Creek, WV.
