Note: READ THIS CAREFULLY --- RELATIONSH IPS NOT NECESSARILY CORRECT In general I have not been able to find any documents that link Simon, Joel, Ephraim, William, Thomas and Penelope. Based on the fact that I have pretty well established the children of the other Faulk in Columbus Co. North Carolina, that the Faulks moved from Columbus Co to Marion Co South Carolina and in the 1820s moved to Alabama I consider it probable that Joel b 1775, Ephraim b 1784, William abt 1787 and Thomas born abt 1789 were brothers and that Penelope born abt 1793 was their sister. Thomas moved to Pike Co in 1835 and joined Beulah Primitive Baptist Church but was not recorded in the 1840 census; William secured land in Pike Co in 1839 so he must have arrived earlier. William was not listed in the 1840 census so he must have died. Charlotte was listed in the 1840 census but not in 1850 census. I believe they also were connected with Beulah Primitive Baptist Church. Charlotte must have died after1840. It is very strange that there are no probate records of either William or Charlotte. Very little is recorded about Arnold and Joel in Pike County records as far as I can tell. My efforts to find a Pike County researcher have been unsatisfactory and my 89 years keeps me from going there and checking for myself. SO BEWARE, this relationship is my best guess, however the information of each of these individuals is based on records so it can be accepted.
INFORMATION ABOUT CHARLES B SCHWEIZER
The researcher/compiler of this Faulk group is Charles B Schweizer, a retired Army Engineer Colonel and retired university administrator. Born 18 May 1913 in Maplewood MO, he is the son of Charles William Schweizer b 19 June 1886 in St Louis Missouri and Alice Kendrick Faulk b15 April 1886 in Fort Worth Texas. In 1929 the family moved to Vicksburg,Mississippi and CBS was graduated from Vicksburg High School and Louisiana State University. He was commissioned in the US Army and retired in 1966. He became the Executive Director of the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville IL from which he retired in 1977. He lives at 891 Prestonwood Dr., Edwardsville IL 62025-4136, Tp 618.659.0736, FAX 618.659.0899 and e-mail <cbschweizer@empowering.com>. He began researching his Faulk family in 1968 and now has over 40,000 records of Faulk descendants. NB Several interesting things here: Apparently Simon Faulk alive in 1830,CBS believes Richard and Simon are sons of Wright Faulk, Richard Faulkmarried Sarah Hinnant so John Hinnant father or brother of Sarah.Jonathan Faulk who lived in SC was present in Bladen Co. is probably the son of John Faulk who CBS thinks is a brother of Wright Faulk.
