Note: Joel Faulk registered a will dated 17 Oct 1834 taken from Abstracts of Wills, Columbus Co NC 1808-1919 page 18 as follows: Daughter Maris Faulk, two feather beds and $30.00, Daughters Thany Godwin, Pencie Strickland, Jennet Cribb and Maris Faulk, equal division of all his estate real and personal. Exec. friend William Cribb. Witnesses C McRea and Hardy Nichols, CHS Baldwin, C.S.C. He apparently did not die because he registered another will dated 12 May1854 taken from Abstract of Wills, Columbus Co., NC 1808-1919 p 70 as follows: Wife Matilda Faul, cow and calf and $4.00 in money. Daughter Bethany Godwin (wife of Simon Godwin), negro boy named Redick. Daughter: Penelope Strickland (wife of Levin Strickland), negro boys Frank and Isham. Daughter Jennett Cribb (wife of Wm Cribb), 233 acres land whereon they now live. Daughter Elizabeth Faulk, negro girl Nancy, negro boy Allen and wench named Dinah, and bed and firniture. Daughter Dolly Faulk, 15 pounds in money. At his decease all property to be divided between his four daughters: Bethany, Penelope, Jennett and Elizabeth. Exec: friend Henry Enzor.
