CBS COMMENT: From the above I deduce Simon Faulk sold this 205 acres of land to his son William Faulk Sr. William Faulk Sr sold 205 acres of land to Ephraim Faulk 21 Feb 1808. Ephraim Faulk was living on the land in 1815 plus the fact that that area became Columbus Co in 1809 so the 1818 date is a typo mistake, it should be 1808. Ephraim sold the 205 acres to William Faulk not William Faulk Sr. Since Ephraim Faulk was born in 1784 this fits with his being recently married and with son Joel's birth in 1807. CBS also deduces Ephraim Faulk sold the land in 1820 because he like many more was leaving the area. He may have moved to Marion Co., South Carolina as many people from Columbus Co. NC did. There are no records of Ephraim Faulk in Columbus Co., NC after 1820. Ephraim Faulk served as a soldier in the regular army during the War of 1812. It is of interest that Thomas and William Faulk served in the North Carolina Militia during the War of 1812. They both served in the 3rd Regiment (Moore's) North Carolina Miltia and are listed in Roll Box 70, Thomas roll record is #114 and William #115.
