Note: Johann Heinrich Knerr lived at Donsieders in 1685. According to descendant and family researcher, Dorothea Saavedra of Bowie, MD., he was born at Gersbach in 1656. He is found on page 429 of the Sippenbuch where his residence is listed as Gersbach. We do know that his wife was 20 when they married at Pirmasens in 1682. They were married for almost thirteen years before Heinrich died, but we have record of only two children being born to them. Could there be others that did not find their way into the Sippenbuch? Anna Barbara Faul Knerr was only 33 when her husband died and she married Johann Kaspar Weber at Pirmasens seven and a half months later. Her sons were only 3 and 10 at that time. Both of them went on to become weavers at Gersbach and Donsieders. According to Cynthia Nason, one of the European experts (Heidi) at the Library in Salt Lake City has found that linen weavers at that time were so notoriously poor, it was said that they had to fast for six weeks before they were allowed to join the linen-weaver's guild because you had to get used to going hungry if you wanted to be a linen-weaver. Anna Barbara's Weber descendants are listed on page 926 of the Sippenbuch. Johann Heinrich Knerr had two known children, 23 grandchildren and 77 great-grandchildren. We have identified a total of 7,986 descendants.
