Note: -German spellings: HENNESHIED/DT, HINNESHIEDT, HENDESHIEDT. -LDS Ordinances done 1948 & 1949 under erroneous name of Michael von Hayderschatt (md to Catharina von Henrikschofen - also erroneous); ordinances valid however. -Assumed Micahel's first name Johann, as were all the sons; always as Michael in documents. -Timeline: 1669c - Wilhelm Hinneschied in Biebelsheim, Pfalz 1670c - Married to Anna Maria Balter (he Catholic, she Lutheran) (1672 The Second War) 1670c - Dau Anna Maria born 1672c - Dau Anna Magdalena born 1673 - Wilhelm & Mathes Krebs (bro-in-law) lease Naumburger Hof, rebuilt house and barn 1674c - Son Johan MICHAEL born 1675 - Army plunders the hof 1676 - Mathes Krebs moves away 1678c - Son Johan Peter born 1678 - Baliff seizes the crops for debts 1679 - Troops looted hof goods and animals; snails consumed the crops in the fields 1680c - Dau Maria Catharina born 1680-81 - Hail devastated the crops; poor growth and production 1682 - Son Johan Christoph born 1683 - Wilhelm in declining health; rent master reported to the Duke 1684 - Son Johan Antonius born 1686 - Dau Maria Elisabeth born 1688 - Ill health, Death of Wilhelm; 1688 - Forced conversion to Catholicism of 4 youngest children by the Franciscans who . removed them from the family for a period of time (1688-1697 Third War - of League of Augsburg - the Palatinate devastated 1688) 1689 - Troops lived on hof, and extorted money and goods from the widow 1694 - Snails ate the seedlings, poor crop production 1695c - Michael moved to Hohenollen ....... 1696 - Hail again hits crops 1698 - Marries 4Nov. Anna Catharina Schneider, d/o Theobaldus Schneider & Anna Margaretha Jung/Jungen 1702-03 - Troops again billetted on farm 1708-09 - Worst weather in centuries 1709 - Anna Maria H. pled for official help to settle Hof disputes and management 1709 - Michael1674 and family leave on their migration trek to Holland-England-America; . . bro-in-law loans Michael money for trip -Emigrated from Germany in spring 1709 at which time Michel Hennescheidt had 4 children- [Johann?] Casper bc1699, Johann Peter chr1702, Maria Rosina Cath. chr1704, Johann Henrich chr1706; subsequently Michel Hinterschit arrived Rotterdam (in 6th party of immigrants) "with wife Anna Catharina, and 3 children"; they sailed to England and lodged there with the other approximately 3-4000 German immigrants until the fleet of 10-11 ships were readied and left England reportedly in early 1710 (some say as late as April), arriving in New York Harbor June-July 1710; the exact ship is unknown. The first ship to arrive was the "Lyon", but which passengers were on it is not known. -A listing of Palatines in NYC in 1710/11 has: Michael Henneschid age 36, Anna Catharina Henneschid aged 30, Casper aged 11, John Peter aged 1, Maria Sophia aged 6. From this confusing listing I conclude: 1) this sequence is right for Johan Peter chr1702 who would have been 9; I believe the "1" is a misreading of the number "9". 2) I believe the English recorder heard Maria "Sophia" for the name Maria Rosina, who would have been 6 having been chr1704; 3) Since Johan Heinrich is not listed, I believe he is the child missing in the Rotterdam List, having died before their leaving; or more probably along the way as no record of death is found in the Reipoltskirchen records. -NYC: Governor Hunter's Subsistence Lists which only records the father's name and the numbers of family members under & over age 10, lists the family of Michael Henneschid 4 July 1710, again 4 Aug 1710, also winter 1710/1711, and winter 1712/13 [and in this year a new child under age 10 indicates the birth of Michael1712]. -In Simmendinger's Register of Palatines 1716/17, we find Michael Hinterscheid and Anna Catharina, with 4 children "were auf dem Rarendantz" or living in the Raritan River area in New Jersey. -NYC Lutheran Churchbook lists births of children of Michael Hunschut and Catharina (at Millstone River; bap at Raritons - juncture of two branches of Raritan River in today's Franklin Twp, Somerset co) 1. Elisabetha b1716; sponsors - Johann Tittle, wf Elisabeth 2. Eva b1717; sponsors - Daniel Schoemacher & Eva Weber; md to Wm. Pettinger 3. Johannes b1720; sponsors - Baldus Pickel, wf Gertrud; [not to be confused with a later immigrant into PA 1749 named John George Hinnershitz (1724-?); our John1720 had no middle name.] -Research efforts of John Ruch, who located Naumburger Hof and did much of the first research into the German family history; continuing research into Balters, Schneiders, and Henneschiedts. -HENDERSHOT ANCESTORS, William Earl Hendershott, 2nd edition 1988. -THE PALATINE FAMILIES of NEW YORK, Henry Z. Jones, 1985.
