Notes
a. Note:   Archibald, Jr. married Jane Bell Pisor Oct 04, 1849 and they lived on a farm (a part of one of the Pisor farms) in Worth Township (formerly Slippery Rock Township) , PA. Archibald, Jr was a cooper (barrel maker) by trade, farmed and also erected log buildings. He was the Justice of Peace of Worth Township from 1861 to 1865. Jane was the daughter of John Pisor and Mary Shields. It is reported that Jane's Great-grandfather, Frederick, settled in Slippery Rock Township, PA about 1770 and was on the first tax records of Butler County, collected in 1804. Frederick and his son, Jacob each owned 400 acres of land and they operated a distillery. They were of German descent and originally spelled their name "Poysor". A will of Margaret Pisor, probated on April 20, 1873, lists a Jane Murphy as a beneficiary. Margaret was the wife of Jane's brother, Jacob Oliver Pisor. Jane and her youngest daughter Anna are buried near the front entrance in the Lower Zion Baptist Cemetery (on Portersville/Jacksonville Road) in Worth Township, PA. Archibald's death certificate lists his cause of death - "Bronchitis". A copy of Archibald, Jr's death certificate is on file. It was signed by his son Oliver T. who then (1916) lived in Portersville (Connoquenessing), Butler County, PA. It is interesting to note that this death certificate shows Archibald Jr's mother's name as "Gold Smith" born in England rather than "Golsom" as reported in other documents. A check of this in underway. Archibald, Jr. is also buried in the Zion Baptist Cemetery. By: Frank B. Murphy (03-10-98) (03-25-99)
