Notes
a. Note:   Jacob Geesy was born 11-7-1779 near Lewistown Frederick County MD and baptized 4-6-1780 according to the records of Apples Church near Thurmont. He was the first child of 12 known children born to this family. His education was probably farming and blacksmith since his father did the same. Jacob married Christena Cail 3-14-1804 in Frederick County, MD There were no known children born of this marriage. By 1809 or before Christena had divorced or passed away because Jacob remarried Susannah Leatherman on 2-16-1809 in Frederick County MD and probably lived on his fathers farm. On 6-28-1811, Jacobs father, Henry sold him some land to continue raising his family and had eight known children. On 3-2-1820, Jacob helped his brother Christian purchase some land. The deed was listed in Jacobs name with Christian to make the payments. Jacob continued with farming until his death from an accident of being kicked by a horse and died 8-26-1829. Wife Susannah died about two weeks later on 9-11-1829, from unknown causes. They were buried in a small family plot near Wolfsville, Frederick County, MD. On 10-8-1836, an issue about the 1820 property that Jacob had listed in his name for his brother Christian had reached the County Equity Court resulting in a judgment against both Jacob and Christian. Christian had failed to make some payments and sometime after 1822, he and family had left Maryland and relocated to Harrison County, Ohio according to the 1830 Harrison County, Ohio federal census near his brother Conrad. The family payed the court since Jacob had died in 1829 and Christian was now out of state. On 5-9-1839, the court case was settled and closed; the land was sold with the money going to the Jacob Geesey family.
