Notes
a. Note:   The 1900 Census for Melbourne shows that Margaret's father was born in Ireland and her mother in Pennsylvania. The 1910 census showed that Margaret had 6 children only 2 of which survived to 1910. Of the four who died, only one, Francis D. Fee, is known.
Will Scott, a story teller in Melbourne, told the story that Margaret mourned the loss of her son Francis Fee who died in 1901 and is buried in the Melbourne Cemetery. According to Scott's story, she would bake a birthday cake for Francis every year on his birthday. Then, dressed in black including a black veil, she would place the cake on her son's grave. Supposedly, Will snuck out into the cemetery on the night of Francis Fee's birthday but fell asleep waiting for the cake to appear. When he awoke, there was a tall black figure standing by the grave. It scared him so badly that he ran home forgetting that he had left his bicycle in the bushes at the cemetery. [Tales of Old Brevard by Georgiana Kjerulff, p. 95]
