a. Note:   . He was nustered out on May 31, 1865. He was in 13 engagements, marched to the sea with Sherman, and was in the grand parade in Washington.

  Private: Confirmed birth/death dates from visit to Ward Cemetery 7-19-85. Need to verify birth date as 5-15-1838 rather than 5-16. Check for group movements with Sherman from July of 1862 which was after Shiloh. From the family bible that we have - "George Fellingham moved from New York state to Grundy county, Illinois in 1849. The only time he left the county was when he enlisted in the Army on July 28, 1862. He returned on June 6, 1865, having been in twelve battles and marched with Sherman to the sea."
Note:   George enlisted on Aug 13, 1862 as a Private in D Co. 127th Inf. Reg., Illinois volunteers
