Note: [family 12062000.FTW] Curtis name appears in the "Crescent" yearbook from the senior class of Minerva High School, 1916 edition, volume #3. This book shows that Curtis was with the class of 1889. This would appear that Curtis graduated from high school, then went into college and the seminary. * 1893 through 1896 seminary student, serving Trinity Mission, McKee sport, Allegheny County PA. during summer vacations. * December 3, 1900 through August 31, 1905, elected as the 1st Pastor and served Christ English Evangelical Lutheran Church in Millvale, Allegheny County, PA. Church was built at Sedwick and Lincoln Ave. Christ English Evangelical Lutheran Church became Christ Lutheran Church, North Ave. Millvale, Allegheny County, PA. * 1900 through 1901, Curtis also served Mt. Olivet Church, Rhine and Robinson Sts. Spring Hill, Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA. Mt. Olivet merged with Grace Lutheran Church and became Saint Michaels and All Angels Church, Spring Garden Ave. Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA. * September 1, 1905 through 1911, there is no record of Curtis being in the Pittsburgh Area. Possibly went into another Lutheran Synod, or went into another state. * 1911 through 1919, Curtis served Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, 5319 2nd Ave., Hazelwood, Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA. * This information was obtained through the Pittsburgh Lutheran Synod, 9625 Perry Highway, North Hills, Allegheny County, PA. Records at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Hazelwood, shows that Curtis served there from January 1, 1912 through May 1, 1919, at which time Curtis resigned. Records at Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary: Curtis graduated from Wittenburg College in 1895 and from Hamma Divinity School in 1898. He was ordained in his home Church, Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (Minerva Lutheran Church) by the East Ohio Synod in 1898. During his Ministry, he served the following churches in ordered named: Orrville, Ohio; Mt. Olivet, Pittsburgh, PA; Christ Lutheran, Millvale, PA; Osnaburg, Ohio; Saint Luke's, Youngstown, Ohio; Saint Paul's, Hazelwood (Pittsburgh) PA. Refer to copies obtained from Gettysburg. During Curtis's absence in PA. from 1905 through 1911, Curtis most likely moved back to Ohio, and served Osnaburg, Ohio and Saint Luke's, Youngstown, Ohio. At the birth of Curtis's son Chester, on January 2, 1911, at this time period, Curtis and Anna were living at 1516 Market St., Mahoning County, Youngstown, Ohio. Chester was born in Ohio. At the time of Paul Boory (infant son) death, in 1913, records at Homewood Cemetery shows Curtis and Anna living at 5227 Second Ave., Hazelwood, Allegheny County, PA. There is no record of marriage to Georgie Leta Thomas in Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA. They may have married in the state of Ohio, being that Georgie was from Orville, Wayne County, Ohio. After the death of Georgie Leta Thomas, Curtis remarried Anna Dorothy Zimmering. Through Church records, at Christ Lutheran Church in Millvale, Anna and her family were members of the Church and this was possibly how Curtis met her. Records obtained to date, shows that Curtis's middle name to possibly be Alberto. Remarks have been made through the years by family members that Curtis's middle name may have been Albertis. Curtis is buried at Homewood Cemetery, Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA. There is no head stone at his burial site. Would be buried at the same plot with Alpheus (his father) and his 1st wife, Georgie Leta Thomas. Curtis Boory Will. Upon this the 19th day of February, 1917 and being of sound mind, do I make this my last will and testament. 1st. I bequeath to my beloved wife and children my undying love with the earnest expectation of meeting them all again in Heaven through God's grace and favor. 2nd. Any and all my property, personal and real, I bequeath to my dear wife, Anna Dorothy Boory, subject only to the one condition that in the event of her remarriage that such property remaining at such time shall become the property of my sons and daughters. No bond is to be required of my wife for the administration of said property of which she is to be sole administrator. God is witness to my sincere good intention in the execution of this my last will and testament. Signed C A Boory
