a. Note:   The 1870 census shows her first name as Susan, but the 1880 census (along with family records mentioned in The Heritage of Pike County, Alabama) show her first name was Sara/Sarah. The 1900 census & her tombstone only show her name as Ella. Since her sister's middle name was Susan, it is likely that Sara/Sarah is correct.
