  Katherine Underhill Brown
 Died: 12-10-2004 Katherine Underhill Brown, 88, of the Bethesda community, died Friday afternoon at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
 A lifelong resident of Greene County, Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 16, 1915, in Baileyton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch for more than 50 years and had served �faithfully� in the mission organization, Vacation Bible School and as a Sunday school teacher.
  She was a former teacher in the Greene County School System.
  Her family noted, �Mrs. Brown enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. She was accomplished in tatting and loved sharing her handiwork with family and friends.�
  She was the widow of W. Haskell Brown, who died June 26, 2002.
  Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Alice and Larry Bales of the Bethesda community; a son and daughter-in-law: James H. �Jimmy� and Donna Brown of Hope Mills, N.C.; three grandsons and their wives: Wade and Karen Bales of Greeneville, Charlie and Ruth Bales of Fall Branch, and Johnny Brown of Hope Mills; three granddaughters and a grandson-in-law: Patricia and Mark Davis, Wendy Locklear, and Kathryn Brown, all of Hope Mills; three great-grandsons: Alan Bales of Chuckey, and Laten Bales and Kenny Hamby, both of Greeneville; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Lowry T. and Elizabeth Underhill of Sacramento, Calif., and Harold A. and Patsy Underhill of Tappahannock, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
  She was a daughter of the late James A. and Lilly Cooter Underhill and was preceded in death by a sister: Fay Compton; and an infant brother.
  The family will receive friends from 4:30-7 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Fall Branch.
  The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o�clock at the church. The Rev. Carl Strickler, the Rev. Victor Wallace, and the Rev. David Guinn will officiate.
  A committal service will be held at 11 o�clock Tuesday morning in Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
  Pallbearers will be Wade Bales, Charlie Bales, Johnny Brown, Alan Bales, John Brown and Wade Tipton.
  Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Fund, First Baptist Church of Fall Branch, c/o Sharon Hall, 17200 Kingsport Highway, Fall Branch, TN 37656.

  GREENEVILLE - Katherine Underhill Brown, 88, Bethesda community, went to be with the Lord Friday (Dec. 10, 2004) at 1:30 p.m. at Laughlin Memorial Hospital in Greeneville.
  Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 16, 1915 at Baileyton and was a lifelong resident of Greene County. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. She was accomplished in tatting and loved sharing her handiwork with family and friends.
  Mrs. Brown was a former Greene County school teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch for over 50 years and had served faithfully in the mission organization, Vacation Bible School, and as a Sunday School teacher.
  She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Haskell Brown, June 26, 2002; parents, James A. and Lilly Cooter Underhill; sister, Fay Compton; and an infant brother.
