  Obituary: The Greeneville Sun, Saturday, March 22, 2003:
 Died March 21, 2003. Luther Ellis Brown, 76, of Babbs Mill Road in the Afton/Cross Anchor community, died Friday at his home.
 Mr. Brown was a farmer and had been employed at the former Magnavox Company plant.
 Survivors include two sons and daughters in law: Jerry and Sharon Brown, with whom he made his home, and James H. and Donna Brown, of Hopemills, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Billie West, of Greeneville; eight grandchildren: Amy Swecker, Jeffrey Swecker, Jason Brown, Patricia Brown, Johnny Brown, Katheryn Brown, Zanea West and Joshua West; a step-granddaughter: Wendy Brown; two great-grandchildren: Megan Etherton and Zoey Garner; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Allen and Pauline Brown, of Afton; J. T. and Frances Brown, of Greeneville, and Aubrey (Buddy) and Melba Brown, of Greeneville, and two sisters, Dorothy Morelock and Audrey Robinson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
 Mr. Brown was the son of the late John and Ernie Brown. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Roy Brown, Haskell Brown and Grover Brown; and by two sisters, Pauline Soyers and Ruby Brown.
 The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Kiser Funeral Home.
 The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Kiser Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Darrin Harrison and Jim Fillers officiating. Interment will be at Cross Anchor Cemetery.
 The pallbearers will be J. G. Smith, Jimmy Broyles, Jack Ward, Jay Southerland, Dale Brown and Doug McKay.
 Honorary pallbearers will be Smokey Mountain Hospice, Tokoma Adventist Hospital's third-floor nursing staff, and Takoma Home Health.
