Obituary: Roger Soloman KINGSTON, Tenn.--Roger Allen Soloman, 58, died suddenly Monday evening (May 10, 1999) in Dayton, Tenn. Roger attended East Tennessee State University before pursuing his love for music. He was an avid musician and songwriter. He was a minister of music and youth minister for 27 years, currently as minister of music and youth at Prospect Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Tenn., and the National Association of Christian Athletes and Ft. Bluff Camp in Dayton, Tenn. Roger was also doing music evangelism and mission work. He had served as youth minister and minister of music at First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte, Fla., Chiefland Baptist Church in Chiefland, Fla., Rogersville Baptist Church in Rogersville, Vaughns Chapel Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Tenn., and Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Kingston, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his father, David Salamon. Surviving are his wife, Patsy Soloman; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Randy Hutchison, Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Cory, Daniel and Isaac Hutchison; mother, Pauline Solomon Soyars, Kingsport; sister, Freda Fleenor, Kingsport; three nephews, a niece and several great-nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City, Tenn. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Tenn., with Dr. Charles Harris, Dr. Michael Crain, the Rev. DeWayne Howard, the Rev. Bill Frank, the Rev. Donny Crass, Don Mingo and the Rev. Dave Sekura officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roger Soloman Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o N A C A Ft. Bluff Camp, 370 Ft. Bluff Camp Road, Dayton, Tenn. 37321 for a camp scholarship.
