Note: [Leonard Campbell Gedcom] John Woolverton, b. ca. 1740 (son of Thomas-2, Charles-1 Woolverton) was married on 19 Feb. 1759 to Abigail Darby, daughter of Ephraim Darby of Sussex Co., NJ. (Source of marriage=Records of the Scotch Plains Baptist Church, Essex (now Union) Co., NJ) It is possible that the marriage took place elsewhere and was only recorded at the above church. Abigail Darby's father was likely the son of William Darby, of the Borough of Elizabeth, Essex Co., NJ. A son Ephraim is mentioned in the will of William Darby, where he is left money rather than land. (New Jersey Archives, Wills, 5:126). David Macdonald says that Abigail died and by 1767 he had married 2ndly to Hannah Rose, dau. of Ezekiel Rose and Mary Fidler. Ezekiel Rose made a will dated 26 May 1768 in Hunterdon Co., NJ and lists his wife Mary, dau. Hannah Woolverton and other children. It appears that John Woolverton went to Washington Co., PA with his brother Thomas between 1777 and 1779 where they both fought in the Revolutionary forces.
