Notes
a. Note:   Beaver Falls was originally known as Brighton and was organized as a borough in 1868 Falls is in Beaver County and it was established in 1800. PA received statehood in 1787, the second state to ratify the Constitution. Beaver County was formed from Allegheny and Washington counties. Early settlers were the English and Scots Irish. Germans arrived shortly afterwards, then the Irish. An opportunity to work attracted the early settlers. Beaver Falls is near the confluence of several rivers and was one of the main routes from the Atlantic to the Mississippi River. With the waterways and falls, this area became an industrial hub for the water power and the routes to move manufactured goods. Some of the industries represented were chemical plants, glass works, saw mills flour mills, pottery mills. My ancestor's father came to the area to work in a chemical plant settlers were Protestant, mainly Presbyterian and Episcopal, and Methodist. Later settlers were Roman Catholic. In the early days, many of the blocks had a different church on each corner. And the religious sects, particularly the Catholic, had different Churches based on nationality. In the 20supth/sup century, there were Hungarian Catholic churches, Polish Catholic, German Catholic churches. Needless to say the church suppers were deliciousWars 1 and 2, Korean War, Vietnam and the first Gulf War took place during Dorothy's lifetime Dorothy was born in McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, PA on 26 Aug 1904, the daughter of Oscar Rudolph Troeter and Lena Barbara Miller. This borough later became part of Beaver Falls. Dorothy attended Saint Mary's Grade School and Beaver Falls High School. After high school, Dorothy graduated from Providence School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. On 26 Nov 1930, Dorothy married Eugene. On 2 Oct 1932, their first daughter, Nancy was born. On 22 Dec 1942, a second daughter, Sandy was born. Dorothy died on 30 Jun 1993 at the age of 88 and is buried in Saint Mary's Cemetary.
