Notes
a. Note:   H1
Note:   Family tradition has indicated that Fritz Meyer served in the Prussian (Saxon) Army during the Boxer Rebellion in China in 1901 in the capacity as German Embassy (Ligation) Guard. During this time, his father died in Germany. Upon Fritz's return to Germany little was left of the estate. He evidently did not stay in Crimmitschau but was working in Essen, Germany when he immigrated to the US. He said the reason he came to the United States was that during the Boxer Rebellion that Privates in the American forces were able to live better than officers in the German army.
According to his son, Karl, he enjoyed gardening and grew vegetables and flowers including Dahlias.
