Note: ving back to Sleaford to live and marry, He also use to play the organ at the Temple in Eastgate, He was for most of his working life a self employed man, and a keen gardener. He had two allotments as well as a orchard ,he also looked after the garden at the bedehouses in Eastgate. As well as the gardens in Carr's Hospital Nothergate.He left school or so I was told by my father at the age of 10 to go out to work. To help to feed his mother and two younger brothers. Like so many they didn't stay on at school they had to go and find work to live.
