Note: n ill health forced her to retire. She worked for a number of years at the Slea View workhouse here in Sleaford. When her husband died she was told that she would have to move out of the Bedehouses, and they only gave her a week to move. My Gran then moved to no 2 Carr Street, a cottage that had no water or toilet inside and no electric. My Gran nursed and helped to care for so many, in her years as a red cross nurse. Then when she wanted help she never got any, and yet she like her husband did so much for the town and the country.
