John Garrett presumably was born about 1633 in England, and emigrated to the Colony probably as a young man. He might be the John Garrett who was indentured to Richard Arnold, a vintner of London, in 1648. He had been a prisoner who was brought in after the surrender of Colchester. His wife was said to have been Elizabeth Ware. He settled in New Kent Co., VA.
John Garrett was raised from knighthood to the baronetcy of Lanier by James I 9th great grandfather of Annette Foster Ditto
