a. Note:   According to a Waterbury newspaper clipping William and Nellie Louisa Ellen Louise) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary ( 1919). The article stated that William was from Philadelphia. He was in the Civil war at the age of 16 as a bugle boy.
 They were members of the First Methodist Church.
  Letter from United Methodist Church of Waterbury. He joined the church January 1869 and died 13 FEB 1921.
  Wrote to Methodist Church and received a reply giving the death dates of Wiliam and Nellie. Wrote to Waterbury Town Clerk for the death cert on Nellie.
  6-6-99 Received the obit on William Wilson Munson dated February 14, 1921. He died February 13, 1921. He had been a resident of Waterbury for 50 years (1871). He was employed by the Waterbury Clock Company until a few years before his death. He was a veteran of the Civil War having enlisted in Litchfield at the age of 16 in the 27th CT. regiment. He was a member of Wadhams Post G.A.R. of Waterbury . He married Nellie Seymour and they celebrated Thier Golden Wedding anniversary in September 1920 in the home of their daughter Mrs. George H. Crane, 45 Yates Avenue.
 Mr. Munson was" a man of pleasant and friendly disposition", belonged to several fraternal organizations. He was the oldest living member of Speedwell Lodge, K. of P., and was a past master of Continental Lodge F and A.M. and a member of Nogohogan Lodge, I.O.O.F. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.
 He leaves a wife, a daughter, Mrs. George H. Crane, a niece, Mrs. F.H. Smith of Middletown, who always made her home in his household until her marriage. He also was survived by 4 grandsons. Funeral services by Rev. W.W. Winans and burial in Riverside Cemetery.
  William was a Civil War Veteran serving in the 2nd CT Heavy Artillery C. M and the 27th Infantry Co. E. This is on his gravestone at Riverside Cemetery.
