From Genealogies of VA Families from the William and Mary Quarterly Historical Magazine comes the following: "Major Peter Jones wasput in command of 57 men from Elizabeth City, Warwick and James City County. Although there is no direct proof, it is morally certain he married adaughter of Gen Abraham Jones. This is shown by his occupying the same land, andby the constancy with which the names Abraham and Wood have reappeared among his descendants. Major Jones had many sons, among them Abraham and Peter. LT Abraham Jones in 1683 patented the Indian town land adjoining the land ofMajor General Abraham Wood"
