 That against Monday next, being the 24th inst., the EDINBURGH and GLASGOW STAGE COACH begins and continues to set out, from Charles Beg, Stabler, Foot of the West-bow, Edinburgh, where Ticketswill be had,-� viz. From Edinburgh every Monday and Thursday, and from Glasgow every Tuesday and Friday thereafter. The Place of setting out from Glasgow will be from George Doig's Stabler at the Gallowgate-port, where Tickets will be had, every Passenger being to pay for Ticket Nine Shillings Sterling to any of the above persons and to be allowed one Stone-weight Baggage; and it shall happen that any Passenger shall be admitted on the Road, they will be served at 4-d. the Mile; the coach setting always to set out at Six in the Morning precisely from the above Places.
  In 1757 George was listed as a vintner in Glasgow. In 1761 he was a horse setter and in 1768 a stabler. In 1759 and 1768 he was an innkeeper. He owned an inn with a stable, and he made his own wine.
