Note: Last Will & Testament�In the Name of God Amen�I, John Sampson of River Bourgeois in the County of Richmond and Province of Nova Scotia, considering the mortality of life and being of sound mind and memory (Blessed be the Almighty God for the sense) do make declare and publish this my last Will and Testament.
First I give and bequeath to my grandson Daniel Sampson, son of Charles Sampson, the house in which I now reside with the lot of land on which it stands containing half an acre on condition that he the said Daniel Sampson shall pay to my executors between the time of my demise and a reasonable time after he shall have become of age the value of the same - the proceeds to be devoted to the spiritual benefit of my soul.
Second I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret my share being the one fourth part of a lot of land containing one hundred acres situated at River Tearin the County of Richmond aforesaid Also my share or one fourth part of all the lots of land on the Point on which I reside on the Grand Goulet Island or elsewhere.
Third I give and bequeath to my grandson Alexander, son of Daniel Sampson Senior, all that lot of land whereon the said Daniel Sampson resides.
Fourth In case my grandson Daniel Sampson aforesaid should fail or refuse to comply with the condition set forth in the first clause of this will, thus the property therein devised shall revert to my beloved wife Margaret if she be living or if she be dead to my executors to be disposed of for the benefit of the souls of myself and my said wife Margaret.
Fifth I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret all my household furniture and all the rest of my personal property after paying from the same the expenses of my funeral and Forty Dollars to the priest of this Parish for masses for the repose of my soul.
Sixth I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret all the residue of my Estate real personal or mixed of which I shall die seujedor possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease to have and to hold the same to her and her executors and administrators and assigns forever.
Seventh I do nominate and appoint Unbain Sampson and Lucien Cordeau to be the executors of this my last will and testament.
