Note: ntary evidence seems to support that it is John Stuart Conrod (e.g. "John S. Conrod" named as the father in the children's baptismal records and Lawrencetown given as the residences), there are some lingering doubts. �As shown in Thomas' will, that John was considered incapable of caring for himself and thus would seem not likely to ever marry. Another suspicious element is that this John's son, Patrick Daniel Conrod, married another grandchild of Thomas Conrod - thus making them first cousins. Although not unheard of, this was an very unusual occurance in this time period.�It should be noted that a "John R. Conrod" appears in the 1861 census, shown as married and living alone.One should also note, that there was another, unrelated, Conrad family living in Lawrencetown at the time.
Note: It is not completely certain that the wife and family attributed to John Stuart Conrod, son of Thomas Conrod, might not actually be that of his cousin John, son of Jacob Conrod - or perhaps even to another John. Although the docume
