Alfred Haden, was the natural son of Maud Elizabeth Fanny Haden, Alfred believed he was raised by his grandparents , James Thomas Haden and Elizabeth Burton, whom he considered to be his parents. Alfred did not find out until he applied for his old age pension that his birth had never been registered . Despite many trips to Birmingham, he was unable to obtain any information to identify who his actual father was. This caused him much sorrow in his latter years, as he had been unaware all his life , that his sister was really his mother. ( Please note this researcher George HADEN found evidence in the 1881 Census that Alfred HADEN was residing in the home of John CLARK and Maud E. F. HADEN based on that information which was not available to Alfred, it appears he was a member of that family at that time , and was the son of John CLARK and Maud HADEN.}
It is possible that nothing short of a DNA test will resolve the actual paternity.
