Note: Caleb has not been proven as a son of Nathaniel although the circumstantial evidence is strong. Nathaniel Hall Estate Sale was held 24 May 1799, following death of Nathaniel Hall's wife, Elizabeth. Caleb Hall also attended the Nathaniel Hall Estate Sale. He purchased a slave. Nathaniel Hall's 1793 Will indicated that property was not to be sold out of family. The question raised is whether this meant immediate family or extended to cousins From Genforum: Caleb and his wife, along with their daughter, Sarah, and Alexander (Caleb's son) and his first wife (Elizabeth Reeves), are buried in the Hall Family Cemetery near Harbins Community. They died in what was then Gwinnett County, GA. In 1914 when Barrow County was established, this portion of Gwinnett County was given to help form Barrow. ------------------------ In 1830 Caleb Hall is living about 8 doors from Nathaniel showing 1M 10-15, 1M 20-30, 1M 50-60, 1F 5-10, 1F 10-15, 2F 15-20, 1F 40-50. In 1840 GwinnettCo, GA, there is a Joshua Hall, 2M 20-30, 1M 40-50, 1M 60-70, 1F 15-20, 1F 20-30, 1F 30-40, 1F 60-70, living next to Nathaniel. His relationship is unknown. Caleb has not been found in the 1840. In 1850 GwinnettCo, GA, Caleb Hall, age 75, is living next to Nathaniel. The identity of Joshua is unknown at this time but it seems odd that Joshua and Caleb appear to have been living on the same property next to Nathaniel yet Joshua's relationship has not been determined. The comparison of children between the 1830 for Caleb and the 1840 for Joshua is close enough that it is possible Joshua is the name of the male aged 40-50 and that Caleb in the male aged 60-70. Perhaps Joshua is the unnamed son born 1805-1810 and slotted in the wrong column on the census.
