All estate deeded me by John Falkner as may be seen in records of Laurence County if ever it is obtained equally divided among all my children. Negro woman Ufley (?) and her daughter Jinny. Wife, Elizabeth. Son, Nathaniel. If other boys stay with their Mother until they reach 21 she shall furnish them horse, saddle and bridle. Property not to be sold out of family. Dated 19 Oct. 1793. Executors: Brothers Fenton and John Hall. Att.: Robt. Noris (signed) Nathaniel Hall Jos. Ervin Benj. Hall Proven 24 Jan. 1797. -------------------------------- Below is a list of many individuals believed to be children of Nathaniel. Only Nathaniel Jr has been proven by the will of Nathaniel Sr. 1. Nathaniel Hall, Jr - proven. 2. Lent Hall - made many purchases at Nathaniel Hall Estate Sale held 24 May 1799, following death of Nathaniel Hall's wife, Elizabeth. This by itself does not indicate he's a son. 3. John "Stone Fence" Hall - supposedly a documented son but I've not seen the evidence. 4. Caleb Hall - also attended the Nathaniel Hall Estate Sale. He purchased a slave. Nathaniel Hall's 1793 Will indicated that property was not to be sold out of family. Definition of "family" is key here. 5. Joseph Sanford Hall - no evidence seen to state he is a son. 6. Benjamin Hall - was a witness to the Will of Nathaniel Hall in 1793. He also proved the Will in Open Court Jan. 24, 1797. Benjamin can be eliminated as a son since an heir cannot legally witness the will. 7. Anthony (Antney) Hall - no documentation to support Anthony as a son. 8. daughter - the 1790 census indicates one daughter born before 1790. 9. Martin Hall - purchased the family Bible at the Estate sale of Nathaniel Hall. --------------------------------- Fenton Hall, Sr. of Halifax County, Virginia, was one of three known brothers who migrated from Halifax County, Virginia to the Lee Shoals Area of Rocky River in what later became the southern part of old Pendleton District and still later Anderson County, S.C. Fenton's known brothers were Reverend Nathaniel Hall, a Baptist Minister, and John Hall, a Revolutionary War veteran who received a large tract of bounty land on Twenty-six mile creek. The families of the three known brothers and of their sister, Sarah Hall DeJarnette, migrated to South Carolina c1785-87. Nathaniel Hall is also known to have founded a Church c1785 in the Laurens District of S.C. before moving to the Pendleton District c1787. The 1790 Census shows that the three brothers and their sister who married Israel Pickens after the death of her husband, Elias DeJarnette, Jr. were living very close together. -------------------------- This family relocated in Northwestern South Carolina c1785. A brochure of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff, South Carolina 1787-1962 states that Nathaniel Hall, a Minister from Virginia settled in the Beaverdam section of Laurens County, and during the year began a work (1844 Minutes of Tygre River Baptist Association). The brocure further states that Nathaniel Hall moved later about 1788 to the Pendleton District of SC and became pastor of Lower and Upper Rocky River Baptist of the Georgia Association.
