 His Obituary
 James Long, aged 84 years, Civil War veteran died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Lawrence Stephens in Lowell on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Death was sudden and is attributed to a heart attack.
 Mr Long was born at Lowell on September 14,1844. He was a farmer by occupation until he retired a number of years ago, when he made his home with his daughter. He was a member of Company K. 77th O.V.I. and saw service throught the Civil War. Having been honorably discharged at Columbus in 1866. His wife, who was formerly Miss Phoebe Merritt died in 1912.
 He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge at Lowell and of the encampment of the order at Keith, Noble County. He was a member of Buell Post No. 178 G.A.R. and of the Washington county Veterans' Association; also of the Christian Church at Lowell. Surviving with his daughter are four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ in Lowell on Friday at 10 a.m. Rev. N.B. Martin, of Crooksville will officate. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery.
 Members of Lowell lodge of Odd Fellows will go to the home of the deceased on Thursday evening to perform the last rites for the lodge.
