I have been acquainted with the widow [Elsie Jewell-Herrington] over fifty years. From hearsay, not being an eyewitness, I knew of her marriage to John Sawyer at my Father's near Grandville, Mich. I was only 11 years old at that time. I had personal knowledge of the death of said Sawyer at my father's. Result of kick from horse in face July 3 1847.
