Note: OBITUARY: From: Herald News -- Thursday, November 5, 1992 - extracted "Ashton -- Austin D. Halladay, 93 of Ashton, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1992, at his residence. He was born April 1, 1899, in Lincoln Twp. and lived his entire life in the Ashton area. He was a sawmill operator in Ashton for 15 years, and later distributed produce to Detroit retailers. He served 33 years as Lincoln Twp. Supervisor, from 1936 to 1969. He was married in 1922, to Eva Steig, who survives. He is survived by on son, Jimmy of LeRoy; two daughters, Eleanor (Mrs. Elwin) Wing of Jackson and Florence Holcomb of Orlando, Fla.; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson. Services were 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30, from Pruitt- Livingston Funeral home in Reed City, with the Rev. Robert Stark officiating. Burial was in the Ashton Cemetery."
