a. Note:   became a citizen of the U. S. of America in 1866. The record is in the St. Charles Court House, witnessed by Diederich Wehde. Frank was a farmer all his life. The tax book of personal Property of the County on Lincoln 1874 states: Frank Bokamper------ Horse 1 $50.00 Mules 2 $100.00 Cattle 5 $70.00 Hogs 8 $20.00 Others $ 60.00 Total $300.00. Taxes were state $1.35, county $3.75 Road $.60 School $.88 All other records were destroyed in a fire. Franks also did the maintence work at the parish church. Catherine died 4/2/1872, at home Old Monroe, Mo. She is buried in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Old Monroe, Mo. In Pious Memory of Franz Heinrich Burkemper Born 7/7/1844 in Wadersloh, Dioceses of Munster, Westfalia Germany, died at Old Monroe, Mo on 10/14/1909. Our friend was prepared for heaven, having repeatedly recieved the Sacrament of Confession and Viaticum in his painful illness, thus well fortified for the arduous passing into eternity. The survivors, especially, his wife and children, recommend his soul for remeberance at Masses, to the prayers of the menbers of the church choir and the Catholic Knights, that he may rest in peace.
