a. Note:   Hermann's brothers were all members of the Prussian Guard. Hermann was the only one who went into the ministry. (Haas, Theophil 1998).
  When Hermann's health improved in Texas the family moved back to the midwest to Manitowok, WI. Hermann turned ill again and doctors advised him to return to Texas. They started out to do so but only made it as far as Westwood where Hermann died.
  One source (Haas-Gwycin) states that Hermann was a "Buchbinder" (Bookbinder) before he was a pastor.
