a. Note:   Listed as Carrie in Eps Bauer's notes. Listed on the 1900 Census as Carolina, and married to Charles Lang for 10 years. Carolina is listed as having 2 children, 1 still alive. The only child this could be is Clifford. Clifford is the only child listed by Eps Bauer for Charles and Carrie (Koetter) Lang. There are two other children listed in the 1900 census - Andrew, age 19, and Carolina, age 14. The odd thing is this: What are the chances that Charles Lang would have a daughter named Carolina, an unusual name, and he would subsequently marry a woman named Carolina?
  According to the 1910 Census Carolina has had 4 children and 2 are living. Andrew and Clifford are living with Charles and Carolina.
