a. Note:   In 1838, Franklin Co. KY tax records show that Robert, along with brothers James and John, farmed 88 acres of land in the "North Elkhorn" area of the county. The value per acre was $15.00. In 1840, records still show Robert with 88 acres on the water course, Middle Elkhorn, and James and John appear elsewhere on the page, so (the researcher) assume(s) they had purchased land between 1838 & 1840. Robert continues to appear in the tax records through 1850, at which time the family must have moved to McLean Co. KY.
