Maple St., died at 6:30 a. m. today in Decatur and Macon County Hospital after an illness of nine months. A retired chief clerk at the Pennsylvania Railroad Decatur freight office, he had lived in Decatur 48 years. He retired 13 years ago. He was born in Peoria County, June 15, 1881, a son of Jacob and Alice Ann Vicary Waite. He married Lillian Estelle DuPell who died May 2, 1953. He leaves sons, Joseph D., Dan Diego, Calif.; Kenneth V., of Decatur; and four grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Jacob, of Peoria and a sister, Mrs. Ed (Elizabeth) Hagan, Peoria. One brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p. m. Saturday in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p. m. Friday.
