 The following information was extracted from The Chillicothe Constitution Tribune (Chillicothe, Missouri) dated June 10, 1921
  Death of G. W.Herring George Washington Herring was born August 21, 1849 and departed this life on June 7th, 1921., at his home in Chula, Mo.,.at the age of 71 years 9 months, 16 days.
  He was united in marriage to Malinda Long, August 6, 1871, and to this union was born twelve children, six of whom survive him. They are as follows; Newton J. Herring, Chillicothe MO. ;Mrs O. B. McCoy, Chula, Mo.; Mrs j. C. Stith, Chillicothe, Mo.; Mrs A. J. Foster, Sumner, Mo.; Mrs John Kilburn, Ralph, Iowa: James T. Herring, Chula, Mo. He also leaves to morn his death his widow, Malinda Herring of Chula, Mo., one brother Frank Herring of Guilford, Mo., three sisters. Mrs Sarah Parkey of Jamesport, Mo. Mrs Mary Sweeney of Trenton, MO., and Mrs Martha Starkweather, Los Angeles, Calif. 28 grand children and 5 great grandchildren.
