Note: The following Obituary was extracted from The Chillicothe Constitution Tribune (Chillicothe, Missouri) dated November 27, 1950 Page 1/ Mrs. J. C. Stith Dies in Jackson She was born in that Township 74 years ago. Mrs J. C. Stith, 74 died at 3:40 o'clock this morning at her home in Jackson township., She had been ill one week. Funeral services will be held a 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Mt Zion Baptist church. Burial will be at Edgewood under direction of the Gordon Home for Funerals. Mary Evelyn Herring was born October 11, 1876 in Jackson township, daughter of George and Malinda Herring. October 29. 1895, she was married to James Clark Stith. She is survived by the husband and four children, Opal Stith, RFD 3, Bertha Cooper, Trenton; Lois Long, McCloud, Calif., and Ila Hornbuckle, Santa Rosa, Calif. One child died in infancy. There also are twelve grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren; one brother Jim Herring, and three sisters Lura McCoy, Nancy Foster and Katie Kilburn. Mrs Stith was united with the Zion Baptest church at the age of 16 and had been an active member since that time. -----------------------------------------
