His enlistment record shows he was born in 1927 at Kitsap, Washington, He had 4 years of high school, and was single with no dependents. His record shows his grade as a private first class with a one year enlistment. He was 18 years old when he enlisted. Obituaries FLORENCE T. (MALONEY) COSTA Florence Theresa Mary Costa entered into eternal life on Mon day, September 11, 2006 at 11:09 p.m. in Reno, NV. She was one of 13 children born to Henry and Maude Starr Maloney in Constable, NY on August 23, 1924. Florence grew up in upstate NY and moved to NYC where she met and married Frank (Rob) R. Costa on Sep tember 23, 1945. They moved to Reno in October of 1955 and raised their three children. Flor ence was a homemaker until 1971 at which time she worked as a hotel receptionist at the El Cortez Hotel in downtown Reno for 15 years. In 1973, she met and married Bob V. Gaskill from Port Orchard, WA and retired in 1986. Florence is survived by her one daughter, Karen J. Arcularius; and her two sons, Steven and Richard Costa, all of Reno, NV; two granddaughters: Shannon Ramacciotti and Tiffany Kea ney; three grandsons: Nickolas, Christopher and Tony Costa; one great-grandson, Austin P. Keaney; one sister, Sr. (June) Mary Thomas Maloney, O.S.U. of Wilmington, Delaware; one brother, Henry Maloney of McDonough, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers: Michael, Gerald, Kenneth and William Maloney; and six sisters: Gertrude Bialon, Ruth Byrd, Dorothy Aquila, Ann Marie Richards, Sr. Veronica Maloney, O.S.U. and Sr. Mary Priscilla Maloney, O.S.U. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church at 1138 Wright St, Reno, NV on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 11a.m. A private family gathering will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, 2700 N. Virginia St., Reno, NV. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family has requested Masses to be said in her memory. "Flossie" will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
