Note: BIO:EPITAPH OF WALTER HAHN 1964 Walter F. Hahn, the son of William and Alvina (Noh) Hahn, was born on a farm 1� miles east of Clarkson, NE, now owned by Jerome Faltys. From there he family moved to the Peter Hahn farm near the old Wells store south of Clarkson before establishing their home a mile north of town on the farm still owned by Walter Hahn. Mr. Hahn received his educ- ation in the Colfax County rural schools and at Fremont Normal College. On Januarey 17, 1912, he was married to Pearl L. May at Dunlap, Iowa. From 1916-1918 they owned and operated a hardware store in Stanton,NE. In 1918 they moved back to the home farm until 1926, at which time they spent on year in California. They returned to Clarkson in 1927 and for 20 years owned and operated a tavern now owned by Delbert Nelson. For the past several years he had worked at the Farmers Union as bookkeeper until his retirement January 1 of this year. Mr. Hahn suffered a heart attack a year ago but returned to an active life until eveven days ago when he entered the Memorial Hospital in Schuyler. There he passed away Friday, April 17, at the age of 74 years, 1 month, and 1 day. Mr Hahn was a well known and active busunessman of Clarkson. He was a member of the New Zion Prebyterian Church and had been a member of the cCommercial Club and the Masonic Lodge. He had also served on the School Board and acted as treasurer for a number of years. He is survived by his wife Pearl, a daughter (Ruth (Mrs. Charles E. Strong) of Omaha), one sister (Mrs. George (Elsie) Doll of Fort Morgan, Colorado, and four brothers (Arthur of Clarkson, Oscar of Omaha, Clarence of Denver,Colorado, and Melvin of Cheyenne, Wy. Three grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin babies, a son and a daughter who died in 1914. The body rested i state at the Miller Funeral Home until the services Monday morning, April 20, at 10:00 at the New Zion Presbyterian Church. Dr. John E. Filinger was in charge of the church services and also internment at the Memorial Cemetary, Fremont, Nebraska. Pall- bearers were J L Jindra, Joseph, Landa, Vinc Prazak, Phil Swoboda, Louis Kabes and Charles Rozmarin. END!!����������������������������������������������������������������� �
