Note:   Shows name is also spelled Bossert. George was a merchant and had lots in the town of Columbiana.
2. Page:   p. 187
Note:   George and his family lived in Beaver Twp, with a Canfield post office. George was a merchant, and his real estate was valued at 2000 and personal property at 7000. It appears the census taker was not careful in recording accurate information. He recorded Mary's age as older than she really was, and some the children's ages do not jive with Alice Montgomery's research. Appearing on this census with George and his wife are Samantha, William P., Frances, Richard, Irwin, Edward, Alice, and an unnamed baby boy.
3. Page:   p. 93
Note:   George was living in East Fairfield Twp., post office in Elkton. He was a dry goods merchant with a real estate value of 8200 and personal property valued at 400. The information regarding ages and child order do not jive with the 1860 census or with the research of Alice Montgomery. Besides, his second wife, Clara, the census lists children, Alice, G. Edward, E. Frances, Grant, and Minnie Hass, who was probably a child by his second wife with her previous husband.

Note:   George was living in East Lewiston, Beaver Twp. It appears he has yet another wife, though the name is illegible. He is a merchant and the only child living at home is Edward, who is a clerk in a store
5. Note:   This was transcribed by Sandy Ramsey. p. 349, Beaver Twp: George Buzard, age 34, merchant, b. PA; wife Mary, age 28, b. OH; daughter Samantha, age 11, daughter Frances S., age 8; son William P., age 6; son Richard, age 3; son Ervin, age 1; and Mary Murphy, age 23.

Note:   George served as treasurer of Beaver Twp. in 1858 and 1860. He operated a store in North Lima and served as postmaster there for awhile. In 1879, he was operating a store in East Lewiston. He also served for awhile as postmaster in that town, as well, sometime after 1851. In 1879, he served as an Elder in the Mount Olivet Reformed Congregation in Beaver Twp. There was a George and Henry Buzard who belonged to the North Lima Methodist Episcopal Church.
