Note: Jared Tingley was an early settler of the Lamont community. He came to Oklahoma in 1893, staking a claim for miles east of Lamont. He moved to lamont about 20 years ago.

Note: On the new homestead in Oklahoma, Jared first built a soddy, then a dug-out, then a frame house. About 1918, the family moved to Lamont. Jared sold the frame house to "Windy" Albright who moved it a few miles away to the Salt Fork River. It was later struck by lightning and burned to the ground. In Lamont, the Tingley family lived in the second house east of the bank. This was later known as the Tingley house. As of the 1980s, the house is still in the family
