Note:   "William A. Day, a retired farmer of Jerseyville, was formerly one of the progressive farmers of the county, and has always been a man of high standing. William and his new wife lived on the Day family farm for four years, where their two children were born. William and his second wife lived on the family farm for awhile, but later he boughy 120 acres. In 1907, he rented out his farm and moved to a home he purchased in Jerseyville on the East Side. He was a member of the Baptist church. He was a Democrat and served as a school director and in several township offices, "being a man of ability and public spirit."
