Note:   Ms. Lutes cites a bond recorded in Catawba County Deeds, Vol. 2, p. 199, June session 1848, where it mentions that Ephraim was convicted of marrying Catharine, "an orphan female under the age of 15 years". It appears she was an heir of William Bost and her inheritance was handled by a trustee instead of it going to her.
