3. Note:   Lydia had a very close friend named Mary Guy. Mary was a neighbor to Lydia while they were children in Virginia. They lived as neighbors for ten years in Holt County, Missouri. They lived within 2 miles of each other after Lydia's marriage. They lived close to each other in Doniphan County, Kansas for about one year and then in Brown County, Kansas. Note:   According to FamilySearch researcher, ncdavenport, this census enumeration represents Lydia Murphy and her mother Eliza Roles. She notes that the name written as Louisa should have been Lydia and that the name Brownell should have been Brownlee. Indeed, this submitter notes another enumerator error in placing the dwelling and family numbers next to Anna's name as if she is the head of the household, making Mr. Brownell, above her, part of the previous family. The census taker says [Louisa] was born in Virginia. This disputes all other census reports saying Lydia was born in Pennsylvania. However, according to ncdavenport, Lydia and her mother and step-father came to Kansas from Virginia. Submitter is trusting ncdavenport on this one.
