Note: Robert lived with Larkin in 1870 Buchanan County, Missouri. Larkin was clearly the son of William H. and Mary F. Thompson. It was not so clear if Robert was also their son. William and Mary appear in 1880 in Cass County, Missouri, with Mary's mother, Sarah Jennings. William and Mary also live in Pawnee County, Oklahoma in 1900. One of their sons is Robert, born 1881. So Robert (1858) on the 1870 census in William's family cannot possibly be their son. Perhaps he is William's brother.

Submitter suspects there is a relationship between Robert and Benjamin Franklin Thompson, a member of William's household. Ben is William's father. Submitter is pretty sure Robert was first married to Alice Hahn, sister of Willam's mother Delilah. Robert is renting his farm. He is 61 years old and illiterate. He was born in Indiana, his father in Kentucky and his mother in the United States. He is a farmer.
