Notes
a. Note:   Job was a prominent member of his community. In 1781 at his home near Rising Sun, he entertained General the Marquis de La Fayette who was on his way to Yorktown, York County, VA. While a full scope of his activities during the Revolutionary War has not been learned, he evidently took more than a passive interest in the American cause. He was reported to Nottingham MM in 1779 for paying a demand made by military people for not attending one of their meetings and for paying the treble tax which was laid principally for the support of war. He was disowned by Nottingham MM in 1780 for paying this tax. He also served in the Maryland Legislature and as a member of that body attended the funeral of George Washington.
