AUGUST 9, 1895 - Allie Wood and family, of Leroy, are visiting relatives and friends here. SEPTEMBER 11, 1896 - George Wood and Allie Wood were arrested Saturday for jumping on and off the passenger train while in motion, and were fined $3 each. The offense is a common one, and would cost lives here as it does elsewhere if it is allowed. The authorities do well by taking the matter in hand. Let no guilty man escape. SEPTEMBER 24, 1897 - John Pendergast, Dan Wood, Allie Wood and their families all visited at the home of Ike Wood at Selma Sunday. The Colfax Press FEBRUARY 2, 1900 - Allie Wood's bald-faced driving mare ran away and broke her leg a few days ago while he was driving from Lexington. Her death was expedited by the usual method to avoid suffering. SEPTEMBER 28, 1900 - Will Wood, Ashley Wood, of Ohio, Mrs. Eli Wood, of Saybrook, and son John, visited at Dan and Allie Wood's on Tuesday. - Allie Wood has bought the Alma Taylor house on North Grove street. FEBRUARY 15, 1901 - Mr. and Mrs. Allie Wood spent Sunday with W.E. Goudy in Bloomington. SEPTEMBER 26, 1902 - Aline Wood is sick with tonsilitis. SEPTEMBER 25, 1903 - Robert McClintock has bought out the Allie Wood restaurant in the Meister building. MARCH 17, 1905 - Allie Wood went to Springfield Monday to take examination for hoisting engineer. JUNE 16, 1905 - Allie Wood has purchased the 10 acre tract of land west of town where the cold storage is located and will build a 5 room cottage. The house will be built near the north-east corner and face the road running west from A. Gillan's. AUGUST 8, 1912 (page 105 Gleanings from the Heart of the Cornbelt Vol. 21, No. 4, Dec. 1987 edition) - Adam Withers and Allie Wood returned the first of the week from their Minnesota trip. Much pleased with that country, Adam bought 160 acres of raw land near Felton, paying $40 per acre, and Mr. Wood contracted for 160 acres in that country.
