  Funeral services were held Sunday at the lst Lutheran Churchfollowing devotion at Klein Funeral Home for Truls O. Vold, 82,retired Brookfield farmer. Mr. Vold died last Fri. home of Mr. andMrs. Ole O. Bakken. Mrs. Bakken is a step daughter.
  Although his health had been failing for several years, Mr. Vold wasable to make regular trips 'up town' until a week prior to his lastillness, which confined him to bed.
  At the funeral service, in charge of the service was the Rev. Alf. W.Jorgensen, Lemoyne Ellingson sang"In Heaven Above" and "Now the Day isOver." Pall bearers were Benny Brunsvold, George Lucken, HenryPeterson, Whitney Randall, Irving Vold, and Stanley Vold. IntermentSunset Cem.
  Mr. Vold was born in Rice County, Minnesota. 3 miles from town ofNestrand Mar. 23, l858. Son of Ole and Brenhild Vold who emigratedfrom Hallingdal, Norway l86l.
  Mr. Vold was a member of a large family, six brothers and threesisters. The three sisters who were Anna Vold, Mrs. Peter Hanson andMrs. Olaf Brunswold, are dead, as is his brother Halgrim O. Vold.The surviving brothers are: Embrick of Kensett and Sever, Carl, andKnut of Northwood.
  Truls Vold was baptized in infancy by the Rev. N. A. Quammen and wasconfirmed at Elk Creek Lutheran Church by the Rev. O. Nilsen. He waseducated in the Worth County Public Schools and St. Ansgar Seminary.
  He was married to Pernilla Trustem Johnson and to them one son andone daughter were born. The son is Olandus T. Vold, now living inAustin, Minnesota. The daughter, Bertha, died in 1914, about two yearsafter the family moved to Northwood from their farm in BrookfieldTwp.. Mrs Bold died in 1938.
  Relatives from out of town Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hoyt and Mr. and Mrs.George Mohern all of Northfield, Minnesota., Roy Johnson and Mrs.Gertrude Johnson of Mason City. (Northwood Anchor, Northwood, Iowa,Feb. 22, l95l)
